A reflection on 2023 journey filled with impactful decisions
Really!!! we're here again for another review!. Is it worth it? Do we really need to publish yearly review? Oh well personally it is very helpful to do a yearly review and will recommend you do same even if it's not published on the internet.

It is nice to share experiences to light someone's path with profound insights and perspective towards opportunities and challenges in life. A lot has changed from the past two years when i started publishing my yearly review as a way to share my experience, learn, unlearn and relearn from my past to enable me in taking actionable steps towards fulfilling purpose.

That been said let's get into the 2023 journey starting from the challenges:
I kept records of wins, learning experiences etc. each month in 2022 but I'll summarize them to keep things simple.
Challenges in 2023

Challenges indicates that joy lies ahead with increase in wisdom.
A fullstack developer role engagement that didn't scale up for some reasons. A way around this issue was to move on and prepare properly for healthy engagement.
Offers that didn't scale through due to location restrictions. Relocation is the fix for this definitely and will happen in due time.
Not shortlisted for the PTDF overseas scholarship after the interview phase. Probably there's something i'm not getting right will give it a try the third time in 2024)
Distraction from multiple engagements with gigs which some didn't turn out as expected. There are goals that are not generating income at the moment but will do in the nearest days ahead. It is important to pay attention to such goals and be clear on contract and gigs deals.
No much learning on German this year. A way to become better learning German in the new year is to make an attempt of few minutes per day.
Writing advance queries and efficient ways to retrieve data. Looking forward to learning how to write advance and efficient queries in 2024.
Expenses on issues with lesser priority. A way around this when i noticed it was to develop of a list of things that require expenses (budgeting)
Unable to publish contents on my Youtube channel.
Obstacles or Failures aren’t bad or signs of incompetence except we choose not to learn the lessons embedded in them.

Progress in 2023 (Achievements | Growth | Development )
Looking at the numerous events that happened presenting me with the opportunities to make decisions absolutely there'll be more progress than the previous years. In the major part of 2023 i reaffirm that "How we respond to the events of life in Faith matters a lot". New challenges on the path of fulfilling purpose signifies progress.

- Worthy of mention is the drastic improvement on my health after deciding to prioritize my well being. Looking forward to getting better at taking care of my well being in the coming years!!!.

Keeping track of financial activities (income, expenses) through Google form and Google sheet. Looking forward to proper budgeting in the coming years because this is super helpful!!!.
Published more articles on Hashnode, Medium and learned a lot from writing.
Obtained the AI Saturday Lagos 16 weeks bootcamp certification
Developed articles on Python series.
Read more books on relationship, spiritual, personal, financial and business development. Looking forward to doing reviews for ease of making references.
Graduated from the bible school program i enrolled in 2022.
Explored more states and areas in the country.
Volunteering as a team member | host for Tech events.
Setup solar power backup. Uninterrupted power supply!.
Improved relationships and connections.
Levelled up my proficiency in Laravel development.
Contributing to the development of Thinkficial organization.
Developed a website for my elder brother's wedding TesKen23
Secured more Investments.
The organizations, contracts and gigs i managed contributed to my solid experiences as a fullstack developer.
Began practical experience on AWS usage with Laravel.
Got better at team collaboration and improvement from feedbacks on how to manage changes in project development.
This is not geared towards comparison. Keeping track of progress has a way to ignite the passion to do more and confront challenges that arises on our way to achieving any set goal.

Conclusion
Feels good to reflect especially having an overview of a year filled with more positive decision making and learning from the failures in the year. However, It’s been an awesome year, had more life changing decisions, and actionable steps, made more money 🤭🤭🤭, networking, and the strived for excellence has been on the best run, all thanks to El-Sali for the year 2023.
